Sparkenhoe wins the James Aldridge Trophy

Sparkehoe is a traditional Red Leicester made by David and Jo Clarke on their family dairy farm in south west Leicestershire.  It is the only Red Leicester made in Leicestershire. 


The James Aldridge Trophy is awarded annually by HRH The Prince of Wales, to the makers of the Best British Raw Milk Cheese, as voted for by the member of the Specialist Cheesemakers Association.


David and Jo attended an AB Cheesemaking course is 2004, and started making their cheese in November 2005, gaining immediate recognition by winning the East Midlands Food and Drink Newcomer of 2006.
